Bio_Brandon

My name is Brandon Whittington.  I was born in Morristown, Tennessee but soon after moved to what I call my hometown; Virginia Beach.  I attended Tidewater Community College  and enrolled at ODU after receiving my associates degree in Science from TCC.

At ODU I was searching for direction in my life.  I wanted to do something that helped people.  I explored microbiology research; however, I found the work left me feeling detached from the goal of actually helping people.  I also tried Optometry and found that somewhat better, though, I didn’t like the more redundant days during shadowing.  Around this time I met a very special girl in my Physics class.  We quickly became best friends, graduated from ODU with biology degrees and later fell in love.  Along the way, we discovered that we both want to help people through Physical Therapy.  We find true value in the healing ability that Physical Therapists gain through knowledge and the ability to help directly improve the quality of life for others who may have just been through a life changing accident or have had an ongoing physical problem (Such as our dear friend John who is still recovering from brain damage, after he had a terrible fall from a lighthouse).

This is what brings me to where I am at now - a volunteer and employee for a great physical therapy clinic. I’d like to facilitate the ability for others to heal and get the most out of life.  I’m now dedicated to becoming a physical therapist myself and if I’m lucky, I’ll gain some new valuable relationships with people along the way.

A little extra about me: I am a tinkerer; I am thrifty and can fix a lot of things and I love technology. If I’m not working or studying I’m usually reading about how to fix or upgrade something .  I’m highly athletic and can be pretty competitive. I’m too interested in so many things to ever be bored. I don’t watch T.V. or movies usually as I prefer more interactive stimulus. I like to cook and have great science and mental math skills.
