Bio

The Staff at Body Kinetics Rehab go above and beyond (and then more) to ALWAYS support the patients.
P
atients rave about our quality of treatment.

And though they affectionately cringe at the memory of the intense regiments (the patients fondly call them “torture”) that we put them through, as is the case with Physical Therapy in general, :-)

the patients however, return eagerly - to continue to receive their PT (physical therapy) treatment from us, because of the results they see.

PROUD TO SERVE YOUR COMMINUTY

We are lucky to have such wonderful patients, experienced and professional staff, and great support from the local community, friends, and family.

In addition to the hard hard work we do on a daily basis, for our patients, their family members/caregivers and so on, we also have been the humble receipients of tremendous help through word-of-mouth, by our patients.

They have been steadfast in raving about our quality of treatment to their Doctors, and other healthcare providers - like their Orthotists, Prosthetists, Accupuncture professionals, and so on...

... for that we say a
BIG THANK YOU!!

Body Kinetics Rehab’s
Jessica To, PT, DPT
Physical Therapist,
(Doctor of Physical Therapy)

Dr. To received her Bachelor of Science degree from Virginia Commonwealth University’s Health Education program, with a major in Kinesiology (the science of human movement). She then went on to get her Master’s degree in Physical Therapy at Marymount University in Arlington, and after a couple of years of clinical practice, she returned to Marymount to get her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree.

Dr. To is well respected by her colleagues, as well as physicians in her field, and her experience ranges from working in hospitals, outpatient clinics, home care and now running her own private outpatient practice. She started her career working at hospitals ( Alexandria Hospital, Washington Hospital Center, then National Rehabilitation Hospital (NRH)). She then decided to learn more about treating patients in outpatient care, and worked at a few clinics (and was soon Facility Director). She then also worked in home health. Now - after developing a solid understanding of a patient’s entire journey from the onset of their condition through to recovery, complete or partial rehabilitation - Dr. To runs her own private clinic in Annandale, Virginia.

The outpatient facility, called Body Kinetics Rehab, is conveniently accessible to and from 495, I-95, 395, and Rt. 66, making it easy for her patients to drive there from numerous points in the Northern VA, MD, DC Metro area. Already, just after about 2 years in business, patients are flocking to seek Physical Therapy care at the clinic, thanks to a wonderful reputation (word on the rehab street, so to speak) for getting results, creative problem-solving, and tremendous care and concern for patients’ well-being.

Dr. To spent many of her clinical years at National Rehabilitation Hospital (NRH) and has great interest and experience working with patients with neurological conditions, and patients with amputation.
During those years at NRH, Dr. To was a clinical instructor, nominated to be an ambassador for a program responsible for improving the hospital’s quality of service, asked to run the mat program for SCI (Spinal Cord Injury) patients along with other neurological patients, and she coordinated the volunteer and intern programs.

At Body Kinetics Rehab, Dr. To focuses on treating patients with neurological conditions and patients with amputation. She is also an adjunct graduate faculty member at  Howard University’s Physical Therapy program, and a member of the Committee for Public Relations for the Neurological section of the APTA (American Physical Therapy Association). Dr. To has been invited to speak at many support groups in the Northern VA area about the importance and benefits of physical therapy.
